TIANSE toner and cartridge

Will using compatible or remanufactured cartridges affect my printer warranty?

No.

You can carry on reading if you like, but if your printer is under warranty from the manufacturer or retailer, and your compatible/remanufactured cartridges are under warranty from us, then you are covered for all eventualities involving manufacturing faults or defects in either the printer or the cartridges.

BUT MY WARRANTY SAYS I CAN'T USE COMPATIBLE CARTRIDGES

It probably doesn't if you read it carefully. There are a number of laws and regulations that prevent manufacturers from witholding warranty cover because you've chosen a different brand of consumables - it would be seen as an illegal attempt to restrict customer choice. Printer manufacturers know this, and will do their best to persuade you to buy their own products, sometimes up to the point of implying a potential warranty issue, but they won't actually break the law.

You may see a phrase something along the lines of:

"We recommend that you use only original cartridges as we are not able to cover under warranty any damage or fault arising from the use of third party products"

The key words here are "arising from the use of", which means that the printer manufacturer would have to provide proof that the cartridges had damaged the printer before they could decide not to honour the warranty.

WHY DOES THE PRINTER MANUFACTURER RECOMMEND THEIR OWN CARTRIDGES?

It's a simple case of recovering costs. Designing and developing a new printer model costs a lot of money, and it's very difficult to get this back and end up in the black when selling the hardware in a competitive market. The established business model for printers has them cheap to purchase and expensive to run - it's not unusual for a manufacturer to make a loss on the printer itself and make all of the profit on the ink. Of course, if you buy compatible cartridges, none of that money goes back to the manufacturer.

IF YOUR PRINTER BREAKS DOWN

If your printer develops a fault for any reason, your first port of call should be the retailer you purchased it from, or the manufacturer directly. If the printer is under warranty then they will be obliged to either repair or replace it, or give you a reason for declining to do so.

In the extremely unlikely event of a warranty being refused because you've used compatible or remanufactured cartridges that you've purchased from us, just ask for a copy of the evidence (they must provide this on request) and send it to us - we'll make sure you're covered.

There is a quality problem when printing my Toner

Faded print or missing text is quite common, as toners contain powered that can rest inside the toner unit.

It may be worth giving your toner cartridge a shake. This redistributes the toner powder around the cartridge, giving you quite a few more pages before you need to replace it. Just grab the cartridge with both hands and gently shake it from side to side, and up and down, for about 10 seconds. Then pop it back into your printer and try printing.

What Is A Compatible Cartridge?

Compatibles can also be referred to as ‘own brand’ or ‘remanufactured’ cartridges. These are ink and toner cartridges that are made for your HP/Samsung/Brother etc. printer, but are not made by your printer manufacturer. Of course, the primary factor for choosing a compatible cartridge is to save money. By looking at a cross section of our customers, we’ve found that, on average. Another benefit to compatibles is that most are produced using recycled components from original manufacturer cartridges, making them a more environmentally friendly purchase decision, too.

Perhaps the biggest concern people have about own brand cartridges is whether they’ll be as reliable as original cartridges and produce good print results. The truth is, if you buy cheap cartridges from a less than reputable supplier, you’ll likely be buying an inferior product. But if you buy a good quality compatible from a reputable supplier, one that can offer you warranties and guarantees, then you’ll be getting a product that will rival an original cartridge in all areas.

Why is the advertised page yield not accurate?

The quoted paged yield is an average based on approximately 5% of page coverage. If you happen to print a substantial amount that’s more than 5% of page coverage, then the page yield will be lower. Other variables can affect the page yield, such as printing on a legal size sheet of paper, rather than a letter size. Printing on photo paper or printing images that contains many color tones is a contributing factor as well.

When I install my cartridge, why does the printer show it is empty/low in ink level?

Every cartridge is individually inspected, weighed and tested before packaging to ensure that it is filled to maximum capacity. If you notice that the ink gauge displays low or no ink level, DO NOT be alarmed. This is very common because you are using a Re-Manufactured cartridge. Unfortunately, we are not able to reset the ink level due to original manufacturer cartridge design.  Therefore, you may receive low empty/ink level indications and messages. These are NOT accurate. To bypass this, click OK or continue through any printer prompts, if applicable, to allow the printer to finish printing or you may press OK on your printer’s LCD screen, if it has one. For Canon inkjet cartridges, you can bypass the ink level message by pressing and holding down the STOP/RESET or RESUME button (upside down triangle in a circle icon) for 10 seconds and then releasing it. It should now continue printing.

You may also receive any of the following messages: 'Used, Refilled or Counterfeited Cartridge Detected', or 'Previously Used Cartridges Installed', simply press ‘proceed’, ‘continue’, ‘accept’, ‘yes’ or ‘OK’ to dismiss the prompt if available.

The cartridge is not being recognized by my printer or it is giving me an error message. How do I get it to work with my printer?

Please make sure that the cartridge is the correct one that your printer requires and make sure that the seal tape is fully removed from cartridge prior to installation. If it is the correct cartridge and you have fully removed the seal tape, remove the cartridge and gently wipe the contact points of the cartridge using a dry, lint-free cloth or a rubber eraser to remove any possible dust or residue that might be preventing it from making a good connection with the printer. Now re-insert the cartridge back into the printer. Make sure that the cartridge is securely inserted properly in place.

What is the shelf life of your cartridges?

2 years depending on the cartridges.
