Stationery is the carrier of human thought and cultural inheritance.
On July 28, 2018, Suzhou Eslite Bookstore held “2018 Eslite Creative Stationery Exhibition”, gathering 63 stationery brands home and abroad with more than 6000 creative stationery items on the fair.
On the exhibition, Suzhou Eslite unveiled the development of the stationery through disassembling of daily used stationery items and knowledge sharing of certain stationery products, in the hope to let the visitors better understand the history of the stationery and enjoy the endless fun that creative stationery brings. You can find all the answers to such interesting questions as “How a pencil is made?”, “How an eraser erases the marks made by a pencil?”, “Why sticky notes can stick multiple times?”, “Why there are no staples in a stapler?” and “How many words can a 15cm 2B pencil writes?” on 2018 Eslite Creative Stationery Exhibition.
We are always fascinated by the storylines in classic literature works, but have you ever wonder what stationery items the protagonists in the fictions would use if they were in our real world? This year’s exhibition gave free rein to imagination, restoring the classic scenes in The Happy Prince, Alice in Wonderland, The Great Gatsby, etc., and creating special stationery items for those protagonists according to their characteristics and the story plots.
What’s worth mentioning is that Dobashi Tadashi, design director of Japanese stationery, has given the audience a lecture themed Routine Stationery: From Selecting To Using. With more than 15 years’ experience in the industry, he has interviewed dozens of famous Japanese stationery manufacturers and written stationery columns for several major Japanese newspapers for years. He is an accomplished expert in stationery from design to selecting and using. He guided all the stationery fans and lovers to enter the fascinating stationery world through careful selection and creative uses of the stationery items, letting them fully understand the stories behind the stationery and enjoy the endless fun creative stationery brings.
