3D Print Your Own T-Rex – 8 Best Curated Models

Apart from being one of the largest meat-eating dinosaurs that ever lived, Tyrannosaurus rex – T. rex or T-Rex, for short – is the carnivorous dinosaur that has arguably received the most media coverage. Everything about this vicious predator, from its thick, heavy skull to its 4-foot-long (1.2-meter-long) jaw, was meant for maximum bone-crushing action. It even had a starring role in the “Jurassic Park” films and has a well-known exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Thanks to 3D printing technologies, now you can 3D print your own T-Rex. We’ve specially made this list of 8 best 3D printable T-Rex models to satisfy your obsession with dinosaurs.

Details: This is a remixed version of MakerBot’s T-Rex Skeleton. The designer fixed some obvious and critical issues to make this model more 3D printable. He fixed tail parts A and B and added internal structures to make both parts solid. Moreover, he separated arms, tail segments, femurs and tibias as these tall and thin parts are very likely to being knocked over by the nozzle when it moves from part to part. Though the original design was meant to be printed without supports, the designer suggests using support at 60-70 degrees on a few parts: ribcage (on side), jaw, arms, neck, and tail tip.
