How to ues TIANSE Coil Binding Machine: a few tips have learned after using

BM-S1250 Coil Binding Machine is an electric binding machine newly launched by TIANSE in August 2021. It has a stable Manual Round Hole Punch and a professional Electric Coil Inserter, which saves time and effort, and can bind up to 500 sheets at a time. According to the test of professional (Heather Lawver), we will show the use skills of Tianse Coil Binding Machine and even other binding machines of the same type.

We have also written an article about the detailed operation process of the coil binding machine, you can check it if necessary. After testing the electric coil binding machine this time, the evaluator gave more practical tips.

This is the second binding machine Heather personally bought: It punches really cleanly, easily, and with very little effort! There are three different punch depth options, which is great. I’ve played around with all three, they each work well, but so far I’ve only used the shortest on to make notebooks. I created two adorable Pixar-themed notebooks for my 5-year-old nephew, using licensed scrapbook paper. I created both of them in under 5 minutes! As an absolute notebook fanatic, I know this will save me so much money, and be a great way to continue making gifts for my friends and family.

Here are a few tips I’ve learned after using it for the past few weeks!

1: Like with all binding machines, punch test paper first to make sure you have everything lined up right! This one does make it easy, with the obvious size markers. But always better to check!

2: Definitely follow the handy instructions & use the provided test punch paper, to punch several times in order to remove the excess protective grease that keeps your punching mechanism safe in transit.

3: After all your materials are punched, I like to thread the coils at least an inch and a half or so into the book before using the rotating spindle. It helps it go smoother in my experience.

4: When using the spindle, don’t hold the notebook flat as if it were laying on a table! Instead, hold the notebook up at almost a 50-60° angle against the spindle. I’ve found this makes it spin SO much smoother, as the grooves in the spindle clearly are designed to keep the spiral from wiggling out of place so it smoothly spins its way through all the holes. Early on I made the mistake of holding it flat and oh boy, did I get frustrated! But that was totally user error on my part!

5: When the instructions say to use the crimping pliers with a “swift motion”, they mean it! Don’t be timid! Make sure that red dot is facing toward you, you’re crimping the right edge of the binding, and the left tip of the crimper is up against the edge of the pages. Then pinch those pliers like you mean it! Do it with gusto, and it’ll work every time! Then flip the booklet over, repeat, and DONE! Easy peasy.
